New Internationalist is a leading independent media organisation dedicated to socially conscious journalism and publishing. Their magazine has been producing in-depth journalism on human rights, politics, and social and environmental justice since 1973.
For the ‘Caring Economy’ November/December 2020 issue, I collaborated with co-editor Amy Hall for her piece on global care chains called “Passing it On.”
Instead of a purely written piece, I developed companion vignettes to help us visualise these care chains.
Across three pages, the vignettes depict the lives of three women that are connected in a global care chain from London to a small village in South India.
These illustrations were created in Procreate.
